Mike, Obama may have spoke in detail, but what does he propose? Abandonment? He was quite young the last time hat was done, but all he needs do is speak to any of the multitude of Vietnamese ”Boat People” that escaped and were lucky enugh to make it out alive, to learn what happened.

The Bush tax cuts raised revenues to near record levels, during wartime. Raising them back to prohibitive levels will only stifle growth, as we have seen since Democrats swept back into power.

What has Obama ever accomplished to give the public a record to stand on?

Someone pays for all those promises and when you stick it to the wealthy unfairly, who already pay over half of all taxes, jobs dry up and lower incomes suffer.

Democrats don’t get it, just as they didn’t get it on their ”Luxury Tax” of the early 90’s that businesses begged to be overturned, after many failed.

Every time taxes were cut to reasonable levels, revenues increased and spending increased in entitlements, which went against the reasons for cutting taxes.

Oh, my friend Lewis, I could not believe that you have it in you stoop this low. What you did in this piece is pure intellectual dishonesty. Any naïve person reading you will assume that the Democrats took over the country when they won control of Congress in 2006.

If the Democrats were in charge of the United States of America, our troops would have been home from Iraq long time ago. That would have saved us billions of dollars and poor families would have had health insurance they need.

If the Democrats were in charge, we would have known what the energy companies wrote in the energy papers they gave Dick Cheney after which gas prices sky rocketed. The Democrats would have done something positive for long term energy security and short term relief.

If the Democrats were in control of the country as you implied, president Bush would not have needed to use his veto pen – a pen he didn’t use all the years his Republican friends were in charge of Congress.

If the Democrats were in control, republicans will not be losing once safe house seats all across the country.

If the Democrats were in charge, something will be done to reduce the deficit and not to keep increasing it. Something will be done about the national debt that republicans do not mind leaving for our children’s children.

The good news is that come November 2008, the Democrats will be in charge. And once again, they will clean up the mess your republican friends have made across America. So, hold your fire. You don’t have to wait much longer before you begin in earnest to take scores.

Until then, learn to accept responsibilities. I know it is a bitter pill, but hey, it is your man Bush who caused them. You can choose to forget but history will not forget. You can try to rewrite history but the version of history written in a hurry is all there to mock your attempt.

Touch a nerve, did I Rudolf?

No, I didn’t ignore your NYT Op Ed. Since it is in today’s paper, I hadn’t seen it yet. Still, what does it say other than the usual BDS talking points, which fall right in line with the Bolshevik comparison I made.

As for your comments, the Troops are not home, no. But are they funded? How do you prosecute a war funding Troops two months at a time?

Funny your Op Ed calls the Republican Congress ”lock-step,” but you imply Bush was in lock-step with them by not vetoing anything, something many of us complained about as well.

Did you forget or ignore the defunding of the Border Fence along our Southern Border?

Republicans are losing seat after seat, not because of Bush but because the Democrats are claiming their candidates are conservative, something the GOP seems to have abandoned and why many of us oppose McCain. Will they stay conservative? No bank on it!

Can you refute how the price of gas has skyrocketed since your buddies in the DNC took control? How consumer confidence has sharply dropped?

Should the Dems succeed in abandoning the Iraqi and Afghani people’s, will you hang your head as millions of them are slaughtered, as the Dems let happen in Southeast Asia, and elsewhere? When do the leftist accept that their misconduct during Viet Nam not only resulted in the senseless slaughter of millions of Southeast Asians, but added over 40,000 American names to the Wall?

Accept responsibility?

Perhaps your Op Ed writer and you needs to look up just what ”signing statements” really are. Every president uses them with little or no complaint until Bush used them.

Can you honewtly say America has gotten better under Pelosi et al’s ”New Direction?”

No sir, I am not the one revising history, just one of the ones trying to get truth out over Bolshevik style assaults.
